While the answer could be both, owners of American Truck Simulator will find a new truck in their garage to take to the highways. SCS Software have added the legendary Kenworth W900 truck as a free DLC.
For PC gamers unable to wait until Steam automatically adds the truck to player stable, a preview video has been released and is featured below.
American Truck Simulator allows PC gamers to experience the most legendary American trucks and deliver various cargoes across the United States. The title takes players on a journey through the breathtaking landscapes and widely recognized landmarks around the States.
Putting gamers in the seat of a driver for hire entering the local freight market, they work their way up to create one of the largest transportation companies in the United States.
Game mechanics are based on the highly successful model from Euro Truck Simulator 2 and have been expanded with new features, creating the most captivating game experience from SCS Software.
But the free truck isn’t the only thing found in the latest update.
Not wanting to intimidate gamers new to the game with crippling fines, they have been lowered considerably in the early stages of the game. But be warned, they will grow larger only as the player's skill/level grows.
Connected to the fines, the developers have also made the detection code for speeding more forgiving, giving the player more time to adjust to a new speed limit.
The final change bridges the differences between driving in North America and Europe by improving the detection of 'turn on red' feature in the game. For drivers in Europe, it may be a surprise that in the US it's legally allowed to turn right at red traffic light, unless explicitly prohibited. So in the game, if players properly use their indicator to signal a right turn, no red light penalty is applied just as expected.
SCS Software have said more changes are in the pipeline with the map team is hard at work adding more speed limit signs to proper places to explicitly zone the limits. There are also changes to the AI code that are tied to yet more map tweaks, which should further limit the problems with being rammed by overly stupid AI cars and on top of it getting penalized for it.
PC gamers should see these changes in the map alongside the next major game update.
