The Walking Dead: Michonne - A Telltale Miniseries Premieres Today

Who has time for romance during the zombie apocalypse? In the PC version of ‘The Walking Dead’ Michonne stars in her own mini-series for the popular adventure game starting today.

Sure, the television version has finally spawned the ‘Richonne’ romance fans have been begging for, but in the world of PC gaming, things are about life and death, not love and marriage!

The new mini-series set in ‘The Walking Dead’ world of Telltale Games and Robert Kirkman's Skybound Entertainment is officially released today. Titled ‘The Walking Dead: Michonne - A Telltale Miniseries’ is now available for download as part of a three episode event.

‘The Walking Dead: Michonne - A Telltale Miniseries’ premieres its first of three episodes today with ‘In Too Deep,' available on Steam and other digital distribution services. The second episode, ‘Give No Shelter,' will follow in the month of March, and the miniseries will conclude with the third episode, ‘What We Deserve,' in April.

All three episodes in the miniseries will be available for purchase at the cost of $14.99 USD or equivalent when the first episode debuts, including access to the second and third episodes as they become available.

As mentioned, ‘The Walking Dead: Michonne - A Telltale Miniseries’ stars the iconic, blade-wielding character from Robert Kirkman's best-selling comic books, portrayed in-game by award-winning actress Samira Wiley, known for her time in ‘Orange is the New Black’. As this is appearing on a PC, it’s a hardcore storyline.

Haunted by her past and coping with unimaginable loss and regret, the story explores Michonne across a three episode miniseries event. Players will dive into the mind of Michonne to discover what took her away from Rick, Carl, and the rest of her trusted group and more importantly, what brought her back.

"Michonne has long been a favorite character of ours and fans the world over, standing among the most complex and tormented perspectives in Robert Kirkman's universe," said Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games. "Allowing players to step into the role of Michonne for the first time makes for a uniquely compelling Telltale experience in The Walking Dead series that will never clearly offer right or wrong answers on the path to survival or redemption."

In this premiere episode, ‘In Too Deep,' Michonne joins Pete and his crew on the sailing ship ‘The Companion’ as they cruise the coast for survivors and supplies. When a desperate signal for help draws them to a scene of horrific massacre, Michonne and the crew are lead further to the floating survivors' colony of Monroe, which may just be harboring the person responsible for the carnage.

As with its better known television cousin, the PC gaming version of the Walking Dead has enjoyed a cult following. To date, ‘The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series’ has sold more than 50 million episodes worldwide, earning more than 100 Game of the Year awards from outlets including Metacritic, USA Today, Wired, Spike TV VGAs, Yahoo!, The Telegraph, Mashable, Polygon, Destructoid and GamesRadar, and was also the recipient of two BAFTA Video Games Awards for Best Story and Best Mobile Game.

As readers can see by the awards, the title is indeed multiplatform, allowing gamers to enjoy it even while away from the PC.

The Walking Dead is set in the world of Robert Kirkman's award-winning comic book series and the difference between the PC version and its better known television offering, a player's actions and choices affect how their story plays out across the entire series.

The actors on the show don’t seem to respond regardless how loud a viewer shouts.
