Space Hulk: Deathwing, the upcoming first-person shooter set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, will be available for download on PC, December 9. With only one month left until release, the whole team at Streum On is working non-stop to add the final layer of polish to the game and deliver the best possible experience to players.
However, Streum On now needs player support, and Steam pre-order players are invited to join the upcoming Betas.
Starting next week, a limited number of pre-order players will be invited to join a closed-beta to help the developers gather the latest technical and gameplay feedback for the game. Then, starting around November 20, all players who have pre-ordered the game on Steam will be able to get their first taste through a new beta. Players will be able to experience the game's tutorial to learn the basics before teaming up to complete a mission from the game's campaign with up to 3 other players in co-op.
These betas will be the perfect opportunity for Streum On to gather the latest feedback from players in order to offer the best possible gaming experience.
To tease gamers who haven’t made the pre order plunge, a new trailer was released today highlighting the developers' meticulous attention to detail and introduces the plot of its campaign, playable in both solo and coop.
Space Hulk - Deathwing is a First-Person Shooter experience based on Games Workshop's classic Space Hulk boardgame set in the universe of Warhammer 40,000. Space Hulk: Deathwing was developed on Unreal Engine 4, and offers four players the chance to experience a desperate battle against Genestealers in the claustrophobic tunnels of a Space Hulk. Players gain skills, new abilities, and new equipment as they make their way through the missions.
The new abilities are unlocked through 3 skill trees.
Each Space Hulk is an amalgamation of ancient ships and space debris, and Olethros is filled with lore from the 10,000 years since the dawn of the Imperium to the 41st Millennium. Players will be exploring Black Templar ships, troop transports and even pirate vessels that were lost in the Warp and became part of the Space Hulk OIethros' bowels.
Space Hulks drift along the currents of the Warp, the immaterial dimension of Chaos. Made up of gigantic, mangled asteroids, ship wrecks, and other stellar debris, they can grow to the size of a moon, and often contain treasured and ancient lost technologies. They are often also infested with broods of the lethal Genestealer.
Streum On Studios made sure that every inch of the colossal ships, each corridor and each room, contains highly detailed designs, unique architectural styles, and references to Warhammer 40,000 history. An incredible amount of care was also given to the enemies and their AI. The Genestealers have many variants with unique abilities and skills, combined with their AI utilizing pack tactics and ambushes that are faithful to the lore.
As a Terminator Armor-clad member of the Deathwing, players have access to the most advanced weapons the Imperium has to offer. The iconic Stormbolter and other famous Space Marine weapons and variants will also be available.
As a further enticement, those who pre-order not only get access to the pre-order Beta, 15% off but one in-game weapon, the Lost Mace of Corswain.
