VR Title 'Detached' Tumbles Towards a New Update

Not everything comes wrapped this time of year. Take the latest update for VR title ‘Detached’ from Anshar Studios.

Detached is a first-person PvP experience focused on rivalry, exploration, and survival that was specifically designed for VR headsets. The game features both a single-player and multiplayer mode that will allow players to test their astronaut flying skills. Anshar are calling it ‘a unique, intense VR title that’s unlike anything you’ve seen in the genre’.

It promises total freedom to move, rotate, and accelerate, even encouraging intense space maneuvers so to let players feel like a real astronaut.

The latest update for this title introduces a number of major and minor additions to fully deliver a true full VR in-game experience and a brand new tutorial level, just to name a few.

‘It’s time to leave the space station and travel to your ship, explains Anshar Studios. ‘But before that happens, you’ll need to solve another arcade task and reach the lifepod, and then you’ll be ready to embark on the next chapter in your interstellar adventure.’

For all those who have not had the chance to experience outer space yet, Anshar Studios has prepared a comprehensive tutorial covering all the game’s mechanics and other useful information needed to comfortably explore space.

Here’s what to expect in the second update of Detached:

  • The final HUB on the first map
  • Full VR in-game and on the main menu
  • Tutorial level
  • New particle effects
  • New lighting and environmental effects on the first map
  • The update also contains bugfixes:
  • Player collisions tweak
  • Various minor bugfixes

Detached is currently on Steam Early Access and will be released on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive in Q1 2017.
