New Date For Early Access To SteamHammerVR

A new and unusual VR game may’ve missed its first ‘Early Access’ release date, but the next is set in virtual stone. SteamHammerVR should be released on January 6th 2017.

Coming from the development team GamestormVR, SteamHammerVR was originally scheduled for release on the Steam store on the 9th December 2016. According to all the screenshots and news on its Steam community page, the new VR title will enjoy plenty of updates from the demo released earlier in the year.

The title’s publishers and developers are taking even the negative feedback they’ve received as some sort of plus. Some negative reviews remarked on the beautiful and polished look of the experience, which GamestormVR take as a positive.

“People are a little critical of wave shooters right now and said they didn't just want to stand and fight,” Head Programmer Tomasz Kirsz notes, “So we have added a really clever teleport system that changes the strategy of gameplay.”

Set in Victorian London 1892 players go against dastardly Professor Rattwurm who is attempting to enslave the fine English folk with his multitude of clockwork automatons. Add to that the stunning backdrop of Victorian London, a unique and engaging soundtrack and characters that range from hilarious to utterly terrifying, players are sure to find plenty to engage them.

Making the game interesting, gamers are armed with your steam powered weapons. Speaking of which, it has been revealed players will start the game with the full arsenal of six weapons which can be upgraded by completing missions.

Artistic Director Martin Rowe points out that unlike many other 'shooter' games on the market, SteamHammerVR 'The Rogue Apprentice' not only has six very unique duel wielding weapons but it also has a great and immersive story narrative which reveals the history behind the relationship between Dr Obadiah Springhorn and Professor Rattwurm.
